Psychology 302: Research Methods
This is a hands-on course covering all aspects of research in psychology. Students gain direct experience reading and understanding published journal articles, conducting literature searches, designing experiments, analyzing data, writing APA-style research papers, and giving presentations. The ultimate goal of the course is for students to develop the knowledge and skills to be "critical consumers" who can evaluate and appreciate the findings from experimental research on human behavior.
Psychology 313: Learning & Memory
This course covers a broad range of topics related to human learning and memory. These include very simple forms of learning such as classical conditioning, all the way to memory for complex situations such as the details of a witnessed crime. Students learn about the brain structures and neural systems underlying different forms of memory, as well as a number of practical tools for how they can enhance their own abilities to learn and retain information.
